One of the enjoyable parts of my job - To invent and create new handloom. Presenting to you the beautiful Nilkanth Nabazari Tussar Saree - a fusion of Gopalpur tussar saree with Lucknow Zardosi work completely handoven.

This mesmerising custom made Nilkanth Nabazari saree is a half and half pure Gopalpur tussar saree on which exclusive zardosi work has been done. Basically I have been working on this project for the last four -five months . It is a beautiful tussar saree in which colourful bird Motifs have been hand-woven using Zardosi work. It takes 5-6 hours to make a single motif in this saree and there are over 20 bird motifs in the saree. Now you can imagine how much time it will be taking to finish one saree. The bird motifs are inspired from Odisha state bird which is popularly called "Indian Roller Bird". In Hindi its popular name is "Nilkanth" or "Sabzak". Naba means new In Odiya. Zari as you would know is an even thread traditionally made of fine gold or silver used in traditional Indian and Pakistani clothes and the embroidery is also called as Zardosi. The matching blouse piece is black in colour and also has small zardosi motifs as shown in the picture.
